Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Action adventure spy comedy film produced and directed by Matthew Vaughnand written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman. It is a sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) which is based on the comic book series Kingsman, created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar. The film features Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Edward Holcroft, Hanna Alström and Sophie Cookson reprising their roles from the first film with Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Elton John, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges joining the cast. The plot follows the members of Kingsman needing to team up with their American counterpart, Statesman, after the world is held hostage by a new threat.
Film Review
I loved it’s super fun and exciting. A new type of millennium James Bond, bear in mind, the movie is very fanciful, with huge jaw-dropping action scenes, in this film the phrase «less is more», it is totally unknown, the film begins with a blow mind car chasing scene over London, following with incredible combat shots during the whole movie, the scene over Mont Blanc Alpes, It is totally insane, that would perplex the spectator.
Definitely, It is an entertaining movie, to have a good time with family or friends. The special effects are great, as well as the soundtrack from Matthew Margeson and Henry Jackman, It can be found on Spotify: Kingsman soundtrack which brings strong emotions to the film.
Once again this film stands out for the beautiful male costume, elegant and sophisticated taste, accentuating a gentlemen style with infinities of male articles. Emulating James Bond’s movies Kingsman has plenty gadgets, for a high-level espionage agent. I personally enjoy watching the variety of them, such as perfumes that are used as explosive, amazing watches, umbrellas use as shields and portfolios that become machine guns, the list it is endless, camouflaged as simple daily male articles.
The Film presents an impressive awarded cast, that blends well in the movie like, Poppy (Julianne Moore) Eggsy (Taron Egerton) Merlin (Mark Strong) Champagne (Champ) (Jeff Bridges) Ginger (Halle Berry) agent Tequila (Channing Tatum) finally the agent Whiskey (Pedro Pascal) the movie is engaging and entertaining.
It won’t be a spy movie without travelling around the world, during the film, our protagonists will visit different parts of the globe such as London, Mont Blanc the Italian Alps, Kentucky US, Sweden and Cambodia, the downside, the places is poorly shown on the film and it feels more like a studio.
Usually, second parts are not always good, Nevertheless, I can say this film will not disappoint you, it is fun and entertaining.
Moral of the Movie
Despite being a blockbuster film, I feel there are some thoughts worth to be commented. There is a scene, where Eggsy tries very hard to rescue Henry’s memories, he said «everyone treated me like an insignificant worm, I felt lost in life, unsuited against society, but you saw (appointing Henry) a great potential in me, transforming myself from a worm into a butterfly then you give me wings to fly very high and now I am feeling stronger and free».
It is been said, the purpose in life is to understand our path and remembered who we were. Through the years we tend to «fall asleep» due to our daily routine, we hardly see the meaning of life beyond our bubble of comfort as we can see in Henry’s life, who is happily lost in a bubble, locked himself in his past because reality it can be difficult to understand and overcome.
Also, the film makes an allegory to drugs users, Julianne Moore plays a simple role, personifying an amusing villain, with black humour, she cause terror to the entire humanity infecting millions with her drug, the film questioning our social behaviour over drug addicts, how we should support them to improve their lives, instead of rejecting and leaving them to their fate.
The film is about friendship values, loyalty and teamwork. Ethics of being a perfect gentleman, something that never goes out of style and that conquers every girl’s heart.
Synopisis
With their headquarters destroyed and the world held hostage, members of Kingsman find new allies when they discover a spy organization in the United States known as Statesman. In an adventure that tests their strength and wits, the elite secret agents from both sides of the pond band together to battle a ruthless enemy and save the day, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy.
History of the Kingman’s Comic
«Kingsman», which originally appeared in a UK-made spy action-comedy comic book series written by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, colored by Angus McKie, edited by Nicole Wiley Boose, published by Icon Comics, an imprint of American published Marvel Comics. Volume 1 of this series, released in 2012, deals with a super-spy recruiting his young nephew to the secret service, channeling the classic James Bond films, and other spy thrillers. The first volume of the series was originally known simply as The Secret Service the titular spy organization is actually MI6, the real-life British intelligence agency. In the film, this is changed to The Kingsman, an independant superspy organization modeled after the Knights of the Round Table. Because of this, many of the trappings of the organization—the gadgets, the codenames, “Manners Maketh Man”—are all things original to the film.
The leads. Similarly, the backstory for the two lead characters is changed significantly. In the comics, the characters that Colin Firth and Taron Egerton play are actually family—Gary (who goes by the nickname Eggsy for most of the film) is still a working class kid who can’t stay out of trouble, but his introduction to espionage comes from his uncle Jack London, whom everyone believes is a government pencil pusher rather than an MI6 agent. London gets tired of bailing Gary out of jail, and offers him a chance to make something of himself. In Kingsman, we’re introduced to Gary’s father, who sacrifices his life to save a number of agents—one of which is Harry Hart (Colin Firth’s character, the film version of Jack London). As a result, he visits Gary’s family and promises them a favor—one the teenaged Gary (now Eggsy) calls in from jail. When his former protégé dies in the field, Hart nominates Eggsy as a candidate to take his place.
History of London Tailors street.
In the movie, a luxury tailor’s shop is used as a cover for Kingsman’s secret spy headquarters, inspired by the famous London Jermyn Street. It was created and named after Henry Jermyn, 1st Earl of St Albans, as part of his development of the St James’s area of central London, around the year 1664. The street was first recorded as «Jarman Streete» in the 1667 rate books of St Martin’s, listing 56 properties. In 1675 there were 108 names listed.
Jermyn Street shops traditionally sell shirts and other gentlemen’s apparel, such as hats, shoes, shaving brushes, colognes, braces and collar stiffeners. The street is famous for its resident shirtmakers such as Turnbull & Asser, Hawes & Curtis, Thomas Pink, Harvie & Hudson, Charles Tyrwhitt and T. M. Lewin. Gentlemen’s outfitters Hackett and DAKS are located on Jermyn Street, as well as shoe- and boot-makers John Lobb and Foster & Son. A number of other related businesses occupy premises on the street, such as the men’s luxury goods brand Alfred Dunhill, who opened its shop on the corner of Jermyn Street and Duke Street in 1907; barbers Geo.F. Trumper, and Taylor of Old Bond Street; and cigar shop Davidoff; Floris, a perfumers in the street, has display cabinets acquired directly from the Great Exhibition in 1851.

Es una película de comedia de espías y acción de 2017 coproducida y dirigida por Matthew Vaughn y escrita por Vaughn y Jane Goldman. Es la secuela de la película de 2014, «Kingsman: El Servicio Secreto» que se basa en la serie de cómics Kingsman, creada por Dave Gibbons y Mark Millar. La película incluye a Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Edward Holcroft y a Sophie Cookson que regresan para interpretar sus papeles de la primera película, junto con Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Elton John, Channing Tatum y Jeff Bridges que se unen al elenco. La trama sigue a los agentes Kingsman que necesitan unirse a sus homólogos estadounidenses, los Statesman, después de que el mundo sea rehén de una nueva amenaza.
Comentario de la Película
Me encanto la película, es súper buena divertida y emocionante, un nuevo James Bond del millennium, por supuesto hay que tener en cuenta que la película es muy fantasiosa, la frase «menos es mas», se desconoce, Kingsman nos trae un film de muchísima acción, con una vorágine de escenas de batallas, unas increíbles tomas de combate sobre la nieve, que dejaran perplejo al espectador, una película entretenida para pasar un buen rato en familia o amigos.
Los efectos especiales son buenísimos, así como la banda sonora de Matthew Margeson y Henry Jackman se puede encontrar en Spotify:Kingsman soundtrack que le da una gran emoción. Una vez más esta película destaca por el gran gusto, un vestuario maravilloso, acentuando la elegancia masculina con infinidades de artículos, los gadgets son la parte mas alucínate de un agente de espionaje de alto nivel, personalmente son mi parte favorita, entre ellos se encuentran, perfumes que son explosivos, sorprendentes relojes bombas, paraguas escudos y portafolios que se convierten en ametralladoras, un sin fin de herramientas mortales, camufladas como simples productos masculinos.
La actuación es bastante lograda con súper elenco de actores como, Poppy (Julianne Moore) Eggsy (Taron Egerton) Merlín (Mark Strong) Champagne (Champ) (Jeff Bridges) Ginger (Halle Berry) agente Tequila (Channing Tatum) finalmente el agente Whisky (Pedro Pascal) llevan al espectador a seguir una película que se hace amena y entretenida.
Durante el film nuestros protagonistas visitaran diferentes partes del mundo como Mont Blanc en los Alpes italianos, Kentucky US, Suecia y Cambodia, aunque la verdad no podemos ver dichas ciudades se presume que los personajes viajan a esos remotos lugares. Las segundas partes no siempre son buenas, pero puedo decir que este film no te desilusiona cumple su objetivo e invita a una tercera saga.
Moraleja de la Película
A pesar de ser, uno de esos Films taquilleros, me parece que hay varias ideas a rescatar que las iré nombrando poco a poco.
Por ejemplo cuando Eggsy intenta salvar a su compañero Henry, él le dice «todo el mundo me trataba como un gusano de poca cosa, me sentía perdido para la sociedad, pero tu viste en mí un gran potencial, transformando el gusano en una mariposa, dándome alas para volar, muy alto, sintiéndome fuerte y libre.» nos demuestra la importancia de valorar a las personas por lo que son y apoyar ese talento especial, aveces solo necesitamos una persona que crea en nosotros y nos ayude a volar muy alto.
Se dice que el propósito de la vida es recordar quienes somos, aunque a veces nos quedamos dormidos, en una parte de nuestras vidas, inmovilizados por la rutina, no vemos más allá de nuestra burbuja de confort. Como el caso de Henry, quien se encuentra en una burbuja, encerrado en su pasado, que él mismo ha creado. Nos demuestra que la realidad muchas veces no es fácil de comprender y superar.
También la película hace una alegoría a las drogas, Julianne Moore (ganadora de un oscar) quien hace un papel sencillo, personificando una villana graciosa de humor negro, ella pone en vilo la salud y la libertad de la humanidad, contagiando a millones con su droga, el film nos da una reseña como seria el mundo si la droga fuera legalizada Ms. Poppy nos desmuestra un ejemplo con el azucar, nos dice que es la sustancia más adictiva y sin embargo la menos controlada por los gobiernos, también nos remarca que sucedería si se expusiera visualmente a la gente que consume drogas, cuestionándonos si en vez de repudiarlos como una sociedad marginada, deberíamos apoyarlos y guiarlos por el buen camino.
La película nos señala, los valores, como la amistad, la lealtad y el buen compañerismo de trabajar en equipo. Con muchísima elegancia nos muestra, el estilo y belleza de ser un perfecto caballero, algo que nunca pasa de moda y que conquista a toda chica.
Sinopsis
Cuando un ataque contra la sede de Kingsman se lleva a cabo y se levanta un nuevo villano, la maquiavélica Poppy (Julianne Moore) y un ex aspirante, los Kingsman, Eggsy (Taron Egerton) y Merlín (Mark Strong) se ven obligados a trabajar en conjunto con la agencia estadounidense, los Statesman, para salvar el mundo.
Por lo que deben viajar a Kentucky a conocer a sus integrantes, bajo la dirección de Champagne (Champ) (Jeff Bridges), tendremos a Ginger (Halle Berry), el femenino de Merlín, el agente Tequila (Channing Tatum), y al agente Whisky (Pedro Pascal), quien será el encargado de darles una mano a los londinenses. Reaparece un Kingsman que completará al equipo necesario para enfrentar a la amenaza global.
Historia del comic e inspiracion para la película.
El cómic original Kingsman The Secret Service, se editó hace muy poco entre los años 2012 y 2013 en los EEUU bajo sello de Icon Comics, de los autores de Marvel, destinada a tener historias más elaboradas e independientes en su gama de superhéroes.
La historia original del cómic era ligeramente distinta, Henry (Jack London) es un agente de MI6 bajo el nombre de Kingsman, Eggsy (Gary London) es su sobrino, como una forma de ayudar a su hermana Jack decide tomar a Gary como agente secreto, sacandolo de un mal ambiente callejero y dándole un mejor futuro para su sobrino, incluyendo un curso acelerado en modales, seducción y formación de artes marciales. El cómic está dibujado por Dave Gibbons, a quien conoceréis sobre todo por su trabajo en Watchmen, junto a Alan Moore. Y los dos guionistas Mark Millar (autor de Kick-Ass, El viejo Logan, Wanted) y Matthew Vaughn, el director de la primera película de Kick-Ass y X-men: Primera Generación, dos de las mejores películas de superhéroes de los últimos años. Un detalle que le valió para que Fox films confiase en él, para la dirección y la adaptación del cómic de Kingsman. Sus creadores se inspiraron luego de disfrutar la película Casino Royale, protagonizada por Daniel Craig. Millar y Vaughn se habían reunido en un bar donde comentando la película, se preguntaron como serian los primeros pasos que formaron el agente secreto 007, creando asi un nuevo comic de espionaje.
Historia de la sastrerias más famosas de Londres.
En la pelicula de Kingsman, se utiliza una sastreria como tapadera para el cuartel secreto de los espias de Kingsman, inspirado en la famosa calle Londinense Jermyn Street, una de las calles mas elegantes y distinguidas de la ciudad, conocida por albergar las mas esclusivas casas de diseno y vestuario masculino. A pasos de Clarence House, la residencia del el Príncipe Carlos. Calle Jermyn ofrece una gama de bellisimas y tradicionales tiendas, volcadas en complacer al mas elegante gentleman con trajes y camisas a medida. La calle se levantó en 1664 y se le otorgó el nombre de un político y diplomático del siglo XVII, Henry Jermy, el primer Conde de St. Albans, quién trabajó a favor de la restauración de la monarquía. Entre las casas de moda mas destacadas se encuentran Hackett, Thomas Pink, Alfred Dunhill o T.M. Lewin y Turnbull & Asse, fundada a finales del siglo XIX y que fue el proveedor de camisas reales y del primer ministro Churchill.
