London Fashion Week.
This week I had visited «London fashion week» as fashion lover, I love everything about it, the magic of being next to the celebrities, to watch the catwalk with the supermodels, the glamour that is created being next to all most famous designers, be enchanted with fabulous dresses, try on the most beautiful shoes, look for the latest in bags, and get lost in the infinity of accessories.
Because, Who doesn’t liked looking and feeling good? I was very excited to visit such famous event in one of the most famous cities in the world in fashion London.
However at the end of my visit I could not understand Why I had a sort of feeling of emptiness?, Would be perhaps I had too much expectations for this event?
I can truly say that I had everything that my ticket promised me, the beautiful clothes, the catwalks, a world full of colour and wonderful fashion, however the event did not ended to fulfilling me completely.
I think the reason might be, as recently I watched the Olympics in Rio, which made me realised that fashion week was not very different from a huge competition among designers, models, shops and people, all wanted to look beyond their reality.
One thing is to keeping updated in the new fashion trends, but felt it was lacking of passion from the designers, to teach people how to dress, to guide which colours makes you feel better and more positive as a person.
It is important to emphasize the enormous effort made by designers to promote their products, with has being a huge labour for moths, to be able to present the best products, creations, and new trends for the LFW, which isn’t an easy task.
However visiting the LFW seemed to me more an upscale shopping centre, where I had to pay tickets to see retail stores and tickets to the catwalks, something that I can do regularly in the mall or the streets of my city with a cup of coffee and my friends.
I cannot deny LFW has an atmosphere which is very nice and is a unique experience. However I would like to remind the true concept, what fashion means. Fashion is not just to cover a body with clothes to protect it from the cold, it is a communication, is an expression, How we feel, and Who we are, is a way that helps us to stimulate our own style. Because not every day we feel the same. Will be days, when we wake up sad, negatively towards life, these are the days when I go to my wardrobe, and say to myself today I will look Divine!!!
Believe or not this simple act of dressing up, makes me feel good and more confident, the best photos I had of me are those when I had difficult time in life, because I put an extra mile, I used clothes, makeup, shoes to help me, to feel better, it’s a way to say and remind me “yes I can”.
I can conquer adversities in life, I am not trying to hide my pain, is way I found to shout to the world, I’m brave and I can overcome all the trials of life, because I believe in me, then is when I become POSITIVE DIVA. A Diva or Divo is someone who we all carry in our heart. I remember my great friend Carlos when he lost his father just a day before New Year’s Eve, I had assumed, he was not in a mood to celebrated new year. Nevertheless I did not wanted him to spent the evening alone, so I went to his house, when I saw him He was dressed with the most fabulous style, He was a Divo elegant, chic looking amazingly dressed for the New Year Eve, He looked at me and say “We have to eat our grapes” (Spanish tradition to wish luck for the next year to come) “Next New year will be full of hope” he said, Because we all carry our pain and grief in a different way, no one say will be easy to dress up when we feel blue, but is not impossible to overcome sadness.
Therefore I tell you dress up phenomenal, use what you got in your wardrobe now, don’t wait for better time to come or special occasion, let people see you on the street, and accept compliments, the most important thing, think high about yourself when you look at the mirror, and give thanks to God for giving you health and wellness, give thanks for the blessings you have, for the love, how you had being created, you are a creature of love, a creation of universe, connect with the wonderful things of the nature, love your life and love every day because you deserve to be loved.
La semana de la moda en Londres.
Esta semana visité “La semana de la moda de Londres”, como amante de la moda, me encanta todo lo que ello con lleva, la magia de ver a las celebridades, poder estar cerca de las súper modelos, ver a los grandes diseñadores, estar encandecida por el glamour de los mejores vestidos, probarse los más bellos zapatos, buscar lo último en bolsos, y regodearme sumergida en la infinidad de accesorios.
Y es quien no disfruta con verse y sentirse bien. Me encontraba muy emocionada de poder visitar tan famoso evento en unas de las ciudades más famosas del mundo de las pasarelas como lo es Londres.
Sin embargo al terminar mi visita no pude comprender por qué ese sentimiento de vacío, Seria acaso que me había llenado de unas expectativas demasiado grande para tal evento?
Puedo decir que lo que se me prometió al comprar mi entrada estaba allí, la bellísima ropa las pasarelas, un mundo lleno de color y moda, Sin embargo el evento no termino por llenarme del todo.
Creo que la razón por la que me sorprendió, podría haber sido por que hace poco fueron las Olimpiadas en Rio, lo cual me hizo ver que la semana de la moda no fue muy diferente a una enorme competencia entre diseñadores, modelos, tiendas y gente que deseaba lucir más allá de su realidad.
Una cosa es ver las nuevas tendencias de la moda pero lo que más falto fue la pasión de los diseñadores, al ensenar a vestir a una persona, el guiarte en que colores que te hacen sentir mejor y más positiva como persona.
Es importante recalcar el enorme esfuerzo que hacen los diseñadores por promover sus productos y darse a conocer, sin embargo a mí me pareció mas un exclusivo centro comercial que tuve que pagar entradas para ver las tiendas de retail y entradas para las pasarelas, algo que puedo hacer tranquilamente en el mall o por las calles de mi ciudad junto a un café y mis amigas.
No puedo negar que la atmósfera es muy bonita y toda una experiencia que hay que vivir, sin embargo me gustaría que no se olvidara el verdadero concepto de lo que es moda, no es solo cubrir un cuerpo con ropa para protegerlo del frio, es una comunicación que damos para expresar lo que sentimos, y quienes somos, es una forma que nos ayuda a estimular nuestra forma de ser, por que no todo los días nos sentimos igual, habrá días en que nos despertemos tristes y de forma negativa ante la vida, entonces es cuando voy a mi armario y digo hoy me vestiré de una forma Divina!!!
Increíble o no es lo que me hace sentir bien y muy especial, las mejores fotos que tengo son cuando más mal lo he pasado y la ropa, el maquillaje, los zapatos me has ayudado a sentir me mejor, es una forma de decirme a mí misma yo puedo!!.
Yo puedo con las adversidades de la vida, no se trata de ocultar mi dolor se trata de comunicar al mundo yo soy valiente y puedo vencer todas las pruebas de la vida porque YO CREO EN MI, entonces es allí donde nace POSITIVE DIVA. Esa Diva la llevamos todos ya sean mujer u hombre siempre ya que siempre hay un Divo que admirar. Recuerdo mi gran amigo Carlos cuando falleció su papa era víspera de año nuevo, me supuse que él no quisiera celebrar el año nuevo, pero no quería que estuviese solo así que fui a su casa, cuando lo vi estaba hecho un gran Divo vestido para esperar el año nuevo, me miro y me dijo vamos que hay que comer las uvas y será un nuevo año de esperanza, llevar el dolor con fuerza es algo que cuesta pero no es imposible.
Por ello te digo vístete de una de una forma fenomenal, que la gente te vea en la calle y te llene de piropos y que lo más importante te veas en el espejo y des Gracias a Dios por darte salud y bienestar, por las bendiciones de amor y por recordarnos que somos una criatura del amor, una creación del infinito, que yo al igual que tú me pueda conectar con las cosas maravillosas de nuestra vida y por ello amarnos día a día.
Was very interesting to be able to participate in conferences, where fashion designers presented their new collections for the catwalks.
Muy interesante era poder participar en las conferencias de moda, donde los diseñadores expresaban en detalle cómo se realizaron la colección que presentaban en las pasarelas.
Beside of runway it was the oportunity for the public to contact the designer and shop direct from them, their creations.
Tras las pasarelas los consumidores podían contactar a los diseñadores directamente y obtener los artículos mas chic de la temporada.

London Fashion Week Trends: Spring/Summer 2017
Is organised by the British Fashion Council (BFC) for the London Development Agency with help from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, London Fashion Week first took place in 1984. It currently ranks alongside New York, Paris and Milan as one of the ‘Big Four’ fashion weeks.It presents itself to funders as a trade event that also attracts significant press attention and benefit to taxpayers. Currently, it is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, and Toni & Guy. It states that it is attended by over 5,000 press and buyers, and has estimated orders of £40 million or £100 million. A retail-focused event, London Fashion Weekend, takes place immediately afterwards at the same venue and is open to the general public.
What was new at LFW.
COLOUR, hemlines, prints: unlike New York, where many brands stuck to their signatures, London was a melting pot of ideas where everything seemed up for discussion. Apart from the conundrum of the week – Christopher Kane’s Crocs do you dare? – much of the chatter centred around Burberry’smammoth see-now-buy-now show, where 83 looks inspired by Virginia Woolf’s Orlando signalled a new era in fashion. But there were plenty of other designers who offered game-changing looks for spring/summer 2017. Here are five trends we loved from London Fashion Week.

Handkerchief hemlines have long been a JW Anderson preoccupation – this season he even went so far as to construct a dress entirely out of white Irish linen handkerchiefs to really ram the point home. Our favourite, though were the ones that had been cut straight and then curved into an S-shape, leaving panels to spiral in ombre hues. Elsewhere, Johnny Coca at Mulberry played with jagged hems, and at Preen, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi hoiked them up and then yanked them down again in various states of punkish rebellion.
Splashy florals never die but this season’s most interesting came in small nostalgic sprigs, as seen at Emilia Wickstead in tiny, intricate garlands sprinkled with Pentagrams in Preen’s witchcraft-inspired collection; and in Erdem’s beautiful linen and silk dresses, where tiny crowns and Roman numerals were hidden within microflorals.
